गुरलाँ सत्यनारायण सेन। गंगापुर में मंगलवार को दोपहर जंगल में अचानक भीषण आग लगने के कारण अफरा तफरी मच गई। तेज हवाओं के चलने के कारण आग ने विकराल रूप लेती गई। 5 घंटे की कड़ी मशक्कत के बाद दमकल कर्मियों ने जंगल में लगी आग पर काबू पा सके।
जानकारी के अनुसार गंगापुर क्षेत्र के सल्यावडी, गणेशपुरा और सूरजपुरा गांव की सरहद में लगने वाले जंगल में अज्ञात कारणों के चलते आज दोपहर में आग लग गई।
ग्रामीणों की सूचना पर गंगापुर नगर पालिका की दमकल भी मौके पर पहुंची
जंगल में तेज हवाओं के दौर के कारण आग करीब 2 किलोमीटर तक फैलती गई। ग्रामीण और दमकल कर्मियों द्वारा भी आगबुझाने का काफी प्रयास किया गया लेकिन वह उसमें सफल नहीं हो पाए। बाद में सूचना पर जिला मुख्यालय से नगर निगम कीदमकल भी मौके पर पहुंची और 5 घंटे के कड़े प्रयासों के बाद जंगल में लगी आग पर काबू पाया जा सका।
हालांकि आग से चारागाह भूमि पर लगे पेड़- पौधे जल गए और कई पशु- पक्षी भी झुलस गए। मौके पर ग्रामीणों ने पशु-पक्षियों को संभाला और उनका प्राथमिक उपचार किया।
